The Lodge Recording Studios is interested in having qualified internship candidates apply to our program.

 

The program lasts 3 months and is a non-paid position. The hours are based on a 40-hour work week, but are not limited to these hours. There will be occasions when sessions take place in the evening and on weekends.

 

At the end of the 3 month program the goal is for the candidate to be fully capable of assisting a recording engineer in all aspects of a recording session. The more initial recording aptitude that the candidate has, the quicker they will learn how to become a 2nd engineer and then be able to learn how to engineer a session of their own.

 

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Setting up recording sessions

• Assisting engineer throughout the course of a session

• Setting up microphones and headphones

• Assisting with the loading-in of equipment

• Studio housekeeping and cleanup

• Running studio errands

• Making copies and dubs for customers

• Editing and assembling audio tracks on audio workstation

• Burning CD copies and making CD labels

• Converting and uploading MP3 files to clients
